Prevention

At Capital Foot and Ankle, we believe that preventative care is the best way to prevent amputations.

According to the American Diabetes Association, every patient with diabetes should have a foot screen done at least annually.  Patients with risk factors for amputation should be seen more frequent and by a foot and ankle specialist.  Once you have suffered from an ulceration, the ADA recommends you follow-up with a foot and ankle specialist every 4 weeks!

Here at The Amputation Prevention Center, we are ready to help with all aspects of preventative care.
